Equity Residences, the manager of luxury vacation residence funds, announced its third investment fund, Equity Platinum Fund 2. The new fund follows the success of earlier Equity Residences funds that have acquired, or are in the process of acquiring, nearly $70 million in strategically located luxury vacation homes, while providing rent-free investor vacations that represent many millions of dollars in rental savings.

Platinum Fund 2 Outline

Equity Platinum Fund 2 plans to raise $50 million to acquire 16 homes with target destinations that include Maui and Big Island Hawaii, Southern California, Los Cabos Mexico, Costa Rica, Napa/Sonoma, Jackson Hole, Aspen, Grand Cayman, Turks and Caicos, the Bahamas, Anguilla, Belize, Paris and London. The Fund will own the residences for approximately ten years (the “Utilization Period”), following on from an initial Investment Period. During this ownership, investors enjoy the homes rent free and income from public rentals helps offset the Fund’s annual operating expenses. At the end of the Utilization Period, Equity Residences will liquidate the portfolio, return investment balances, and distribute appreciation profits. In addition to the Platinum Fund 2 homes, investors will have access to the entire Equity Residences Home Collection, plus thousands of homes in its affiliate networks.

Founder shares currently start at $171,500 and Equity Residences is now accepting deposits of 10% of the total investment to secure Founding Investor pricing. The annual dues for this founding share are $3,960, and these can be offset with rental returns if an investor chooses not to use all their vacation time.

New Home in Belize

Equity Residences also announced the purchase of a beachfront residence in Ambergris Caye, Belize for its fully subscribed original Platinum Fund. The home will undergo upgrades including the addition of a sixth bedroom this fall.

This home is a true example of Caribbean luxury with 26’ ceilings in the living room and dining area and a 600-sq-ft veranda with an amazing view of the Caribbean Sea and the Belize Barrier Reef. The home also features an infinity-edge pool, 250’ dock with palapa and swim platform.

Ambergris Caye is the largest Caye in Belize, located in the clear waters of the Caribbean Sea, just off the tip of Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula. The Belize Barrier Reef is the second largest reef in the world, and it provides abundant opportunities for snorkeling, fishing, and diving.
