Even the most avid winter sportsman knows that, at least sometimes, it's better to spend part of the winter somewhere the snow never flies. Of course, northern residents who don't enjoy any part of the season after November, the “snowbirds,” flock somewhere more temperate as often as they can.

Hyatt Siesta Key Residence Club

Whether your goal is a brief respite from northern winters or a place to “hide out” from winter for a more substantial time, one good place to go is the Hyatt Residence Club at Siesta Key, Florida.

As a fractional owner in Siesta Key you will enjoy private access to 300 feet of America's #2 ranked beach. When it's time to come in from the water, take your pick of more than 100 nearby private and public golf courses, enjoy the Sarasota ballet, or take a trip to the Ringling Museum and check out the history of the circus.

When it comes time for shopping, you can experience everything from small single-owner shell shops to luxury stores at St. Armand's Circle.

Of course, being a Hyatt Residence, Siesta Key also offers amenities including a concierge, library, a fitness center, waterfall spa, and a beach front fireplace on the pool deck.

The Details – Fractional Ownership at Siesta Key

Fractional ownership of a Hyatt Siesta Key property allows you use of your vacation home for a total of three weeks. Two of those weeks are fixed weeks set in advance; one of them is a “floating” week that can vary according to your availability. In addition, Siesta Key fractional owners can convert their unused time at their residence into points for use at other Hyatt locations.

What Does Ownership at Siesta Key Cost?

The overall cost of ownership at Siesta Key depends on both the size of the residence chosen and the dates you've chosen for your fixed time at the property; winter rates are understandably higher. Your initial cost will run from $110,000 - $226,000, with annual dues from $3,600 to $6,900 to cover your three weeks at your property. A good way to try out Siesta Key is to rent one of the units and see if you like it - the rentals are available through the Hyatt website.

When Siesta Key was first being sold several years ago the prices were in the range of $250,000 to $750,000 for six weeks of deeded ownership. So there has certainly been a drop in prices, as there has for whole ownership throughout the Florida coastal resorts.

Any potential concerns about pricing aside, however, the luxury, convenience, and location of the Hyatt Siesta Key makes it a strong contender for “snow birds” seeking escape from the north – even if only a brief one.
