Private Aviation Company Magellan Jets is expanding its product portfolio with the launch of two new pay-as-you-go membership programs. In the age of coronavirus and uncertainty about commercial flying, these new offerings are partly aimed at new private flyers who are transitioning from commercial first- and business-class.

The new membership programs provide flexibility of guaranteed access to four categories of aircraft, with a low initial investment and a lower annual renewal rate. Additionally, members enjoy 12-month locked-in hourly rates and the ability to fly on as little as 12 hours’ notice, plus no blackout dates, fuel, or peak surcharges.

“We are simplifying our programs to focus on lowering barriers to entry. Now, more than 9 million American households and businesses that used to rely on airline service have unprecedented access to purely private business aviation solutions at an unbeatable value,” says Magellan Jets President and Co-Founder Anthony Tivnan. “Traditional views around private jets are outdated. We’re here to help America fly again.”

The two new programs are simply called Membership and Premium Membership. Some of the key differences between the two are newer aircraft, shorter call out times and fewer “High volume days” in the Premium option. The details are summarized in the table below.

“Our Membership fees are designed to guarantee access to more options at a pay-as-you-go hourly fixed cost, with as little as 12-hours notice,” says CEO and co-founder Joshua Hebert. “We have worked hard to provide the greatest value per hour by increasing transparency and eliminating the numerous fees, blackout periods, and ancillary costs typical of other programs designed for a pre-crisis world. We’re here to elevate the industry and help get America back to work.”

On the "high volume days", which includes days around major holidays such as Thanksgiving and Christmas, the call-out time is seven days for both membership programs.

Magellan also offers on-demand charter, where you are quoted a trip at variable market rates, and has a prepaid 25-hour jet card which offers fixed hourly rates on several different aircraft models.
